Karl A. DeGraff, age 64, a resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away on September 17, 2024, in Naperville, IL. Karl was born on November 30, 1959, in Hinsdale, IL.
Karl is survived by his daughters, Nancy and Kristy (with husband and children), and their mother, Naomi; his parents, Robert and Carolyn DeGraff; his siblings, Diane (Craig) Stanton, Steve (Heather) DeGraff, Tom (Dawn) DeGraff, and Kevin (Linda) Noe, and their children.
Karl grew up in Hinsdale and Canton, IL. He was active in Boy Scouts, eventually becoming an Eagle Scout. He attended college at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, and explored many courses in engineering and computer science, where he found his life-long passion for the computer industry. Karl pursued a career in computer programming and networking and eventually started his own business. He affectionately referred to his consulting work as “corporate computer trouble-shooting.”
Karl was a life-long musician and participated in many Tulsa area community groups. He was a founding member and devoted participant in music ministry with the Tulsa Praise Orchestra since 1995. He faithfully performed with the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra since 2002. He was active in three Tulsa church orchestras over the years at Southern Hills Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, and South Tulsa Baptist Church.
Karl especially loved his family’s annual fishing trips to Canada throughout his childhood and teen years. Canada was his “happy place.” He worked hard to create similar core memories for his own family by returning from the 1980s through late 1990s, then returned with his brother Steve and father Robert in recent summers. He cherished these trips to beautiful remote locations and the quality time spent with family.
